If this is your first time visiting the site you'll find some basic information about Matt Lunson. Obviously of late the wonder that is Myspace has made sites like this one a tad obsolete. I like to think of this site as a nice piece of real estate. If I hang onto it I might build on it again in the future.
All my energies are now being poured into One Day International. It's great to be back in a band again and not having to hump a guitar around!

The band are nearly finished the album and it looks like we've found a good home for it too...
We're supporting Richard Hawley in Vicar St. Dublin Sunday 23rd September and then taking part in the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival also in Dublin on Friday 28th September. The festival runs from the 28th - 30th and is the premier Irish Music showcase. We then have a week of gigs around Ireland with the lovely Cathy Davey 7th - 11th October.

This will all be a great warm up for CMJ Music Marathon 16th - 20th October in New York where we hope to talk to some management and labels etc.
We're doing the Music From Ireland Showcase at CMJ October 17th 205 Chrystie, NY,NY.
Music From Ireland is a cross industry and arts collective spearheaded by FMC set up to promote and support Irish acts at International Music Festivals. It is sponsored by IMRO, The Arts Council, Culture Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Delta Airlines and Livewire Business Management.
Meanwhile we recorded a version of Aliens which is to be included as a free download to go with the American release of The Cake Sale.
The Cake Sale is being released in the U.S. by Yeproc Records.

Matt has contributed a new song, Aliens, to The Cake Sale.
The Cake Sale is a band featuring a loose and expansive collective of musicians and writers who have combined to create a 9-song CD of the same name on Oxfam Records. All profits will go to support Oxfams Make Trade Fair campaign and their overseas programme work. Songs on the album have been written by Dave Geraghty, Emm Gryner, Paul Noonan, Glen Hansard, Ollie Cole, Damien Rice and The Thrills. Lead vocalists for the project include Lisa Hannigan, Nina Persson, Gary Lightbody, Gemma Hayes, Glen Hansard, Josh Ritter, Conor Deasy and Neil Hannon. A host of other luminaries fill the roles of musicians.
The album is available November 3rd. |
